Pump & Mechanical Services

Alongside our fabrication and installation work, SEQ Mechanical & Engineering provides pump and mechanical services. These sit outside our Cm3 fabrication and installation scope and are delivered under the arrangements below, so the right licence sits behind every job.

How we work

  • Pump and hydraulic work — as a subcontractor. Pump work is carried out as a subcontractor to licensed plumbing or HVAC contractors who hold the required licence for the installation. They hold the licence; we provide the mechanical capability.
  • Industrial and factory mechanical work — direct. Much of the mechanical work we do on plant and equipment in factories and industrial facilities — rebuilding a conveyor or gearbox, replacing an electric motor — falls outside QBCC building work, so we can contract for it directly. Where a job does involve licensed building work, it's carried out under our QBCC licence or by the appropriate licensed contractor.

What we offer

· Pump inspections, servicing and maintenance support

· Pump removal, replacement and mechanical repairs

· Bearing, seal and coupling work

· Pump alignment

· UV system servicing

· Mechanical fault diagnosis

· Vibration checks

· Pump station maintenance support

· Gearbox and drive work

· Rotating equipment servicing

· Conveyor mechanical work

· Confined space entry — pump stations, wet wells and plan

· 24/7 Breakdown and callout support

Confined Space Entry

We are trained, ticketed and equipped for confined space entry, including atmospheric testing and breathing apparatus. This means pump station, wet well and plant work can be completed without bringing in a separate confined space crew.

Pump or mechanical enquiry?

Restricted Electrical

SEQ Mechanical & Engineering holds a Restricted Electrical Contractor Licence (No. 1512430). It permits a defined scope of electrical work on industrial equipment: disconnection and reconnection of electric motors; testing and tagging of portable electrical equipment; and electrical work on composite (combined electrical/mechanical) industrial equipment. Our electrical work is strictly limited to this restricted licence. Anything beyond it — is carried out by a contractor holding a full electrical licence.

Where work involves regulated plumbing, drainage or hydraulic installation, it is carried out under the appropriately licensed plumbing or mechanical contractor. This keeps every job correctly licensed.
