Head contractors & principal contractors

Trade packages for major projects

Fabrication, installation and mechanical scopes on sports venues, public infrastructure and commercial developments across South East Queensland.

South East Queensland has a decade of major venue and infrastructure construction ahead of it. Stadiums, aquatic centres, indoor sports facilities and the transport and public realm around them — all of it delivered by head contractors who let the work out in trade packages.

We take the packages that sit between the big structural trades and the fit-out: handrails and guardrails, edge protection, bollards and crowd barriers, machine guarding, plant room brackets and supports, gates and security fencing, pump and mechanical plant. The scopes that are too small to interest a large fabricator and too compliance-heavy for a general trade.

And when the project finishes, the building doesn’t. A venue that operates for thirty years needs those same assets maintained, repaired and replaced — which is the work we do every week on commercial and industrial sites already.

Trade scopes

What we deliver on a project

Handrails, guardrails & balustrade

Non-structural handrail and guardrail to stairs, walkways, landings, plant decks and spectator areas. New install and defect rectification before handover.

Edge protection & barriers

Bollards, crowd and vehicle barriers, protective screens and plant-protection steel through car parks, loading areas and public realm.

Security fencing & gates

Perimeter and compound fencing, swing and sliding gates, plant enclosures, storage and equipment cages.

Brackets, frames & supports

Mounting steel, plant room framing, pipe and cable-tray supports — site-measured and made to fit rather than packed out from stock.

Machine & plant guarding

Guarding and protective screens to plant and equipment, designed around maintenance access rather than bolted over it.

Mechanical & pump plant

Pump installation and commissioning, pipework and valve fitting, rotating equipment, plant room mechanical. Confined space entry where the plant sits below ground.

One purchase order, one induction, one point of contact.

Small trade packages usually cost a head contractor more in coordination than they do in dollars. We turn up documented, do the scope, and hand back a photographic record of what was done.

Why engage us

What we bring to a principal contractor

Compliance evidence

A documented, controlled WHS system with numbered procedures, SWMS by task, permits, registers and a competency tracker — the evidence a principal contractor needs in their own file, not just ours.

Local and small

A Queensland small business operating across South East Queensland. Queensland procurement policy requires buyers to invite local, small and regional Queensland suppliers on routine work.

Capacity where it’s scarce

Skilled trade capacity is the constraint on this construction pipeline. We take the packages that are hard to staff and awkward to schedule.

Scope discipline

We document what we don’t do and refer it out — scaffolding requiring a high-risk licence, rope access, structural roof work. You won’t find us improvising outside our ticket.

Occupied and live sites

Staged works, after-hours attendance and works alongside an operating facility. Most of what we do already happens in buildings that can’t shut down.

After handover

The same team that installed it can maintain it. Planned and reactive attendance on fabricated assets and mechanical plant for the life of the facility.

Common questions

Engaging us on a project

Do you work as a subcontractor to head contractors?
Yes. Direct to client, or as a subcontractor to head contractors, builders and facilities managers. We are set up for the compliance and documentation a principal contractor needs before we come through the gate.
What do you need from us to get on site?
Site induction and a permit if your system requires one. We supply SWMS and safe work documentation before we attend, hold current QBCC and electrical contractor licences, carry $20M public and products liability, and are Cm3 prequalified with Rapid Global and Sitepass onboarding in place.
Can you work to a construction programme?
Yes. Trade packages scheduled against your programme, and reactive attendance where something needs fixing before an inspection or a handover date.
Do you take on maintenance after handover?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Once a venue or facility is operating, the fabricated assets need ongoing repair and the mechanical plant needs servicing. We work on live, occupied sites with minimal disruption.
